Tonight there was the most beautiful rainbow going right over our house I couldn't resist taking a picture. If you look close you will see that it was a double rainbow. It is difficult to photograph the complete arc of a rainbow, as this would require an angle of view of 84° or a 35 mm camera with a wide-angle lens which I don’t have. A rainbow does not actually exist at a particular location in the sky. It is an optical illusion whose apparent position depends on the location of the sun.
The Irish leprechaun’s 's secret hiding place for his pot of gold is usually said to be at the end of the rainbow. This place is impossible to reach, because the rainbow is an optical effect which depends on the location of the viewer. When walking towards the end of a rainbow, it will move further away. This could be why nobody has ever found that pot of gold.
